A figure floats in landscapes and spaces without a ground plane. Where fields of hay, asphalt, dirt, or tile once were, there is only water. The reflected skies are endless and mirrored interiors are doubled in height. This animation explores experiences within environments that are recognizable but surreal. Swims was made for Hothouse 3, the NFB's program for emerging filmmakers, whose central theme was "Air & Home".
