A look at the history of forest devastation in the Great Lakes region, once a huge forest, but today left with only remnants like Temagami. The Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources, charged with the stewardship of forest management in the Temagami region, advocates multiple use, a strategy which is getting harder to reconcile due to increasing demands on this dwindling area. Temagami is a battleground between radically different value systems: immediate jobs and profit vs. the priceless spiritual role of an intact, ancient forest.
