A young Afghan boy abandons his best friend amidst the increasing ethnic, religious, and political tensions of the late Afghan monarchy. Years later, driven by childhood guilt, he returns to his war-torn homeland to rescue the man's son, and right the wrongs against the only true friend he ever had.
