Despite a relatively short growing season, Canadian farmers produce a wide range of fruits, including apples, tender fruits (peaches, nectarines, pears, plums, prunes and cherries), grapes, blueberries, cranberries, haskaps, strawberries and raspberries. Southern Ontario and southwest British Columbia, which each enjoy about 180 frost-free days every year, produce much of the fruit grown in the country, while Quebec and the Maritimes also have significant fruit production, despite having only about 120 frostfree days per year. Fruits accounted for 19.2% of total farm cash receipts 1 for edible2 horticulture in Canada in 2022.
