Using examples from around the world, the program looks in detail at how rivers shape the landscape. It examines the various processes by which the energy of moving water over thousands of years erodes, transports and deposits material to create new landforms. Many typical features arre illustrated, such as waterfalls, gorges, meanders and flood plains. The different way in which river falleys develop in granite, sandstone and limestone country is also shown.
