This is the story of the ravages of colonization by Euro-Canadians when the Mechif lost their lands and their independence to foreign interests. The destruction of the community and homes of St. Madeleine by local and provincial authorities symbolizes the disrespectful activities of Europeans towards the Mechif during the twentieth century.
