Describes how alcohol abuse can affect a drinker's personality and distort his or her sense of values and priorities. Describes issues such as absenteeism, hiding alcohol and lying about its use, the breakdown of relationships, as well as illegal activities, particularly drinking and driving. The problems caused by the social and behavioral consequences can often reinforce dependence on alcohol.
